I Love To Sing!

This is a beginning vocal class for middle school students.  No experience is required.  The fundamentals of good vocal production, diction and pitch are stressed.  Students will learn the basics of reading music, which include but are not limited to rhythm, key signatures, time signatures and beginning sight-reading. The fundamentals of
good vocal production, diction, and pitch are also introduced.  Students who would enjoy a yearlong music experience are encouraged to enroll in this course.  There are two major performances in which students are required to participate.  
Specific dress for concerts is required.  An opportunity to attend Solo and Ensemble Festival is available to students who study voice privately.  
 
CONCERT DRESS:
Ladies in this class wear a black dress (provided by the school).  The students are required to have black flat shoes or character shoes with a 1½-inch heel. You can purchase these at any dance store. The shoes should be plain black, no colors or other decoration is permitted.  
 
Gentlemen will wear black slacks (no denim), a white dress shirt, and vest & bowtie (provided by the school) and plain black dress shoes.  The shoes should be plain black, no colors or other decoration is permitted.  
 
ALL DRESSES/VESTS & TIES WILL BE RETURNED TO RMS AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR OR THE STUDENT WILL HAVE A FINE ON THEIR SCHEDULE!
