Following his position as the Fraser Public Schools elementary band teacher for the 2014-2015 school year, Mr. Sheldon Santamaria is the band director for the Richards Middle School bands.  Mr. Santamaria is a Fraser graduate, Class of 2008, in which he was a member of the Symphony, Jazz, & Marching bands as a saxophonist and soloist.  He graduated from Wayne State University in 2013, where he majored in Music Education.  While at Wayne State University, he was awarded the winner of WSU Concerto Competition, allowing him to perform as a soloist with the Wayne State Orchestra.

Prior to teaching at Fraser, Mr. Santamaria completed a long-term substitute position for middle school band at Carter Middle School in the Warren Consolidated Schools, and has been an assistant with the Fraser High School marching band since the summer of 2014, attending all band camps, weekly rehearsals, and performances.

Mr. Santamaria looks forward to working with the band students at Richards Middle School and continuing the tradition of excellence!
