Picture
Mr. James Rodgers is in his twenty-eighth year of teaching.  He is a proud graduate of Fraser High School, Class of 1989, and received a Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Music Education and Clarinet Performance from Wayne State University in 1994, and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Wayne State University in 2003.

Since 2000, Mr. Rodgers has served as the director of the Varsity, Concert, Symphony, Jazz, and Marching Bands for Fraser High School.  He is also the Instrumental Music Department Head for Fraser Public Schools.

Prior to his appointment at Fraser High School, Mr. Rodgers began his career teaching music for three years in the Oak Park School District from 1994-1997, and then became the Director of Bands at East Detroit High School from 1997-2000.

Mr. Rodgers and his wife, Diana, are blessed with three wonderful children:  Colin, Jacob, and Lylah.  Colin is a Fraser H.S. graduate (Class of 2019) and is attending Central Michigan University majoring in business and on the CMU drum line.  Jacob is also an FHS graduate (Class of 2020) and is attending Michigan State University majoring in Physics.  Lylah is a sophomore at Fraser High School and a member of the drum line in marching band and Symphony band.

As always, Mr. Rodgers is looking forward to continuing the Tradition of Excellence in Music at Fraser High School.
